Vyvgart (efgartigimod alfa-fcab)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Vyvgart is a biologic medicine made from part of an antibody. It blocks a receptor called FcRn (neonatal Fc receptor), which lowers the level of IgG antibodies (a type of immune protein) in the blood.

MedRx Infusion can fill Vyvgart with a prescription and deliver it free to your door. This page also covers Vyvgart Hytrulo (efgartigimod alfa and hyaluronidase-qvfc).

What Vyvgart is prescribed for

  • Generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG): adults with generalized myasthenia gravis (an immune disease that causes muscle weakness in many parts of the body). Both Vyvgart and Vyvgart Hytrulo are approved for this.
  • Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP): adults with CIDP (a nerve disease that causes weakness and numbness, mostly in the arms and legs). Only Vyvgart Hytrulo, the shot under the skin, is approved for this.

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Vyvgart is right for you.

How Vyvgart is given

IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.

Injection under the skin, given by a healthcare professional, or you or a caregiver after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.

Storage: If you inject Vyvgart Hytrulo at home, keep the prefilled syringe in the refrigerator in its original carton to protect it from light, and do not freeze or shake it. If needed, it can stay in the carton at room temperature (up to 86°F) one time, for up to 30 days.

Before you start

Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:

  • a review of your vaccines before each treatment cycle
  • a check for any active infection

Read the Medication Guide and the full Vyvgart prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
