Vemlidy is an antiviral medicine for hepatitis B. It blocks an enzyme the hepatitis B virus needs to make copies of itself.

What Vemlidy is prescribed for

Chronic hepatitis B: adults and children 6 years and older who weigh at least 25 kg (55 pounds) and have compensated liver disease (the liver still works well enough).

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Vemlidy is right for you.

How Vemlidy is given

Tablet or capsule by mouth, given by you. We ship it to your door.

Storage: Store it below 86°F (30°C). Keep it in its original container.

Before you start

Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:

a test for HIV
blood and urine tests of kidney function (creatinine, urine sugar and urine protein), plus a phosphorus test for people with chronic kidney disease

Important safety information: This medicine has a boxed warning that hepatitis B can suddenly get much worse after you stop taking it. Your liver should be checked closely for several months after you stop.
