Velsipity (etrasimod)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Velsipity is a tablet called a sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator. It keeps some white blood cells (lymphocytes) inside the lymph nodes and other lymph tissue, so fewer of them are in the blood; exactly how this helps in ulcerative colitis is not known.

MedRx Infusion can fill Velsipity with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Velsipity is prescribed for

  • Ulcerative colitis: adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (swelling and sores in the lining of the large intestine).

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Velsipity is right for you.

How Velsipity is given

Tablet or capsule by mouth, given by you. We ship it to your door.

Storage: Store the tablets at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F.

Before you start

Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:

  • a recent complete blood count (CBC), including your lymphocyte count
  • a heart tracing (electrocardiogram, or ECG)
  • recent liver blood tests
  • an eye exam of the back of the eye, including the macula
  • a skin exam, before or soon after you start
  • a review of the medicines you take now or took before, including medicines that slow the heart rate or weaken the immune system
  • a check that you are protected against chickenpox, with a blood test and the vaccine if needed
  • bringing your other vaccines up to date

Read the Medication Guide and the full Velsipity prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
