Taltz (ixekizumab)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Taltz is a biologic medicine (a medicine made from living cells). It blocks a protein called IL-17A, which plays a part in inflammation.

MedRx Infusion can fill Taltz with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Taltz is prescribed for

  • Plaque psoriasis: adults and children 6 years and older with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (a skin condition with thick, scaly patches) who may benefit from shots or pills (systemic therapy) or light therapy (phototherapy).
  • Psoriatic arthritis: adults with active psoriatic arthritis (joint pain and swelling linked to psoriasis).
  • Ankylosing spondylitis: adults with active ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that mostly affects the spine).
  • Non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis: adults with active non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (spine arthritis that does not show on X-rays), with signs of inflammation that tests can find.

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Taltz is right for you.

How Taltz is given

Injection under the skin, given by a healthcare professional, or you or a caregiver after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.

Storage: Keep it in the refrigerator in its original carton to protect it from light, and do not freeze or shake it. If needed, it can be kept at room temperature (up to 86°F) for up to 5 days, but then it must not go back in the refrigerator.

Before you start

Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:

  • a test for tuberculosis (TB)
  • a check that your vaccines are up to date

Read the Medication Guide and the full Taltz prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
