Simponi (golimumab)
Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Simponi is a biologic medicine called a TNF blocker. It blocks TNF, a protein that plays a part in inflammation (swelling and irritation); Simponi is a shot under the skin, and Simponi Aria is the same medicine given by IV.
MedRx Infusion can fill Simponi with a prescription and deliver it free to your door. This page also covers Simponi Aria (golimumab).
What Simponi is prescribed for
- Rheumatoid arthritis: adults with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (a disease where the immune system attacks the joints), used together with methotrexate.
- Psoriatic arthritis: adults with active psoriatic arthritis (joint pain and swelling linked to psoriasis); children 2 years and older can get Simponi Aria only.
- Ankylosing spondylitis: adults with active ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis that mainly affects the spine).

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Simponi is right for you.
How Simponi is given
Injection under the skin, given by you or a caregiver, after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.
IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.
Storage: Keep Simponi in the refrigerator in its original carton to protect it from light, and do not freeze it. If needed, you can keep it at room temperature (up to 77°F) one time for up to 30 days, but then do not put it back in the refrigerator.
