Omvoh (mirikizumab-mrkz)
Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Omvoh is a biologic medicine (a medicine made from living cells). It blocks a protein called IL-23, which plays a part in inflammation.
MedRx Infusion can fill Omvoh with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.
What Omvoh is prescribed for
- Ulcerative colitis: adults with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (swelling and sores in the large intestine).
- Crohn's disease: adults with moderate to severe Crohn's disease (swelling and sores in the digestive tract).
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Omvoh is right for you.
How Omvoh is given
IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.
Injection under the skin, given by you or a caregiver, after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.
Storage: Keep the pens or syringes in the refrigerator in the original carton to protect them from light, and do not freeze or shake them. If needed, they can be kept at room temperature (up to 86°F) for up to 2 weeks, but then they must not go back in the refrigerator.
Before you start
Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:
- a test for tuberculosis (TB)
- a blood test to check your liver
- a check that your vaccines are up to date
Read the Medication Guide and the full Omvoh prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
