Krystexxa (pegloticase)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Krystexxa is an enzyme medicine. It turns uric acid in the blood into a substance the body can get rid of more easily.

MedRx Infusion can fill Krystexxa with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Krystexxa is prescribed for

  • Chronic gout: adults with long-lasting (chronic) gout that standard uric acid-lowering pills (xanthine oxidase inhibitors) did not control, or who cannot take those pills.

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Krystexxa is right for you.

How Krystexxa is given

IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional.

The label says Krystexxa is given in a healthcare setting by providers prepared to manage serious allergic reactions. Ask your prescriber where you will get it.

Before you start

Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:

  • a blood test for G6PD deficiency (an inherited enzyme problem that can harm red blood cells), if you are at risk for it
  • a blood test for uric acid, which is checked before each infusion

Important safety information: This medicine has a boxed warning about serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and infusion reactions. It also warns about red blood cell breakdown (hemolysis) and a blood problem called methemoglobinemia in people with G6PD deficiency, who must not get Krystexxa.

Read the Medication Guide and the full Krystexxa prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
