Imaavy (nipocalimab-aahu)
Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Imaavy is a biologic medicine called a neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) blocker. It is a lab-made antibody that blocks FcRn, which lowers the level of IgG antibodies (a type of immune protein) in the blood.
MedRx Infusion can fill Imaavy with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.
What Imaavy is prescribed for
- Generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG): adults and children 12 years and older with generalized myasthenia gravis (an immune disease that causes muscle weakness) who test positive for anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) or anti-muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK) antibodies.
- Warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia (wAIHA): adults and children 12 years and older with wAIHA (an immune disease in which the body's own antibodies destroy its red blood cells) who are taking, or have taken, corticosteroids (steroid medicines).
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Imaavy is right for you.
How Imaavy is given
IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.
Before you start
Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:
- a review of your vaccines, to see if you need any before treatment starts (live vaccines are not recommended during treatment)
- a check for any active infection
Read the Medication Guide and the full Imaavy prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
