Forteo (teriparatide)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Forteo is a man-made form of part of parathyroid hormone, a hormone the body uses to control calcium and bone.

MedRx Infusion can fill Forteo with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Forteo is prescribed for

  • Osteoporosis after menopause: women past menopause with osteoporosis (weak, thin bones) who are at high risk of breaking a bone, or when other osteoporosis medicines did not work or could not be tolerated.
  • Osteoporosis in men: men with primary or hypogonadal osteoporosis (bone loss with no other cause, or linked to low testosterone) who are at high risk of breaking a bone, or when other osteoporosis medicines did not work or could not be tolerated, to increase bone mass.
  • Steroid-induced osteoporosis: men and women with osteoporosis linked to long-term steroid medicines taken by mouth or by IV (systemic glucocorticoids) who are at high risk of breaking a bone, or when other osteoporosis medicines did not work or could not be tolerated.

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Forteo is right for you.

How Forteo is given
