Entyvio (vedolizumab)
Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Entyvio is a biologic medicine (a medicine made from living cells). It blocks a protein on some white blood cells, which keeps those cells from moving into the inflamed lining of the gut.
MedRx Infusion can fill Entyvio with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.
What Entyvio is prescribed for
- Ulcerative colitis: adults with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (swelling and sores in the lining of the large intestine).
- Crohn's disease: adults with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease (swelling in the lining of the digestive tract).
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Entyvio is right for you.
How Entyvio is given
IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.
Injection under the skin, given by you or a caregiver, after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.
Storage: Keep the prefilled pen or syringe in the refrigerator in its original package to protect it from light; do not freeze or shake it. If needed, it can stay out at room temperature (up to 77°F) for up to 7 days.
Before you start
Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:
- a check for tuberculosis (TB), if your doctor thinks it is needed
- bringing all your vaccines up to date
Read the Medication Guide and the full Entyvio prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
