Eligard is a hormone medicine called a GnRH agonist. It raises testosterone for a short time at first, then lowers the amount of testosterone the body makes.

What Eligard is prescribed for
- Advanced prostate cancer: people with advanced prostate cancer.
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Eligard is right for you.
How Eligard is given
Injection under the skin, given by a healthcare professional. When your prescriber agrees it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency to give it.

Insurance and prior authorization
Health plans often require prior authorization for Eligard. Our intake team checks your coverage and works with your prescriber’s office on the paperwork before your first delivery.
The manufacturer runs a support program, Tolmar Patient Assistance Program, that may help eligible patients with costs and access.
