Cefepime (cefepime)

Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.

Cefepime is an antibiotic (a medicine used to treat infections caused by bacteria) in a group called cephalosporins. It stops bacteria from building their cell walls, which they need to survive.

MedRx Infusion can fill Cefepime with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Cefepime is prescribed for

  • Pneumonia: adults and children 2 months and older with moderate to severe pneumonia (a lung infection).
  • Fever with low white blood cell counts (febrile neutropenia): adults and children 2 months and older with a fever and a low count of neutrophils (white blood cells that fight infection), as a first treatment before the germ is known.
  • Urinary tract infections: adults and children 2 months and older with uncomplicated or complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis (a kidney infection).
  • Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections: adults and children 2 months and older with uncomplicated infections of the skin and the tissue under it.
  • Complicated intra-abdominal infections: adults with complicated intra-abdominal infections (serious infections inside the belly), given together with metronidazole (another antibiotic).

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Cefepime is right for you.
