Briumvi (ublituximab-xiiy)
Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Briumvi is a biologic medicine called a monoclonal antibody (a lab-made protein). It attaches to a marker called CD20 on certain immune cells (B cells) and lowers their number, which doctors think is how it works in multiple sclerosis (MS).
MedRx Infusion can fill Briumvi with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.
What Briumvi is prescribed for
- Relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS): adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (a disease where the immune system attacks the covering of nerves in the brain and spinal cord). This includes clinically isolated syndrome (a first episode of MS-like symptoms), relapsing-remitting MS (flare-ups followed by periods of recovery) and active secondary progressive MS (MS that slowly gets worse but still has flare-ups).
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Briumvi is right for you.
How Briumvi is given
IV infusion, given by a healthcare professional.
The label calls for close supervision by an experienced healthcare professional, medicine beforehand to lower the risk of infusion reactions, and at least an hour of observation after the first two infusions. Your prescriber decides where you get it. When it can be given at home, we send a skilled nurse from an accredited nursing agency.
Before you start
Before the first dose, your prescriber may ask for:
- a blood test for hepatitis B
- a blood test of your immunoglobulin (antibody) levels
- blood tests of your liver
- a review of your vaccines, because some vaccines need to be given weeks before you start
- a check for any active infection
Read the Medication Guide and the full Briumvi prescribing information, and ask your prescriber or our pharmacists about side effects. Our pharmacists are on call 24 hours a day.
