Filled with a prescription and delivered free to your door, with help on prior authorization.
Azithromycin is an antibiotic in a group called macrolides. It stops certain bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow. The IV form is for adults who need to start treatment by vein.
MedRx Infusion can fill Azithromycin with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.
What Azithromycin is prescribed for
- Community-acquired pneumonia: adults with lung infection caught outside a hospital, caused by certain bacteria, who need to start treatment by IV.
- Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID): adults with an infection of the womb, fallopian tubes or ovaries, caused by certain bacteria, who need to start treatment by IV; another antibiotic is added if other germs (anaerobic bacteria) may be involved.
A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Azithromycin is right for you.
