Ajovy is a biologic medicine called a monoclonal antibody (a lab-made protein). It attaches to a protein called CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide), which is thought to play a part in migraine, and stops it from working.

MedRx Infusion can fill Ajovy with a prescription and deliver it free to your door.

What Ajovy is prescribed for

Migraine prevention in adults: adults with migraine, as a preventive treatment (a medicine used on a regular schedule, not to treat an attack that has already started).
Episodic migraine prevention in children and teens: children and teens 6 to 17 years old who weigh at least 45 kg (about 99 pounds) and have episodic migraine (headaches on fewer than 15 days a month).

A prescription is required. Your prescriber decides whether Ajovy is right for you.

How Ajovy is given

Injection under the skin, given by a healthcare professional, or you or a caregiver after training. A nurse can show you or a caregiver how to give it.

Storage: Keep it in the refrigerator in its original carton to protect it from light, and do not freeze or shake it. If needed, it can stay in the carton at room temperature (up to 86°F) for up to 7 days, but then do not put it back in the refrigerator.

Before you start

Insurance and prior authorization

Health plans often require prior authorization for Ajovy. Our intake team checks your coverage and works with your prescriber’s office on the paperwork before your first delivery.

The manufacturer runs a support program, Ajovy Savings Offer, that may help eligible patients with costs and access.
